My name is Pat Wright and I started in the DB world back in 1999 with Sybase Sql Anywhere 5.5. Like Many DBA’s there was no one else to work on the database server so I volunteered. We soon migrated that into MS Sql server 7.0 then worked our way up to Sql 2000.
I’ve spent the last 10 years managing databases in excess of 500GB and performance tuning databases that added millions of rows per day. I’ve worked on serveral BI/DW projects varying from simply creating cubes from tables to full ETL and DW design. My passion is with helping people whenever I can. No job is to big or to small and I’m always happy to help. I was honored in 2006 and 2007 as a Microsoft MVP.
I’ve been volunteering in the community since my first presentation at my first local SQL Server users group 5 years ago. Since then I have been helping to organize local training events and presenting at local and national events. I have organized the Utah Code Camp for the past 3 years and co-founded Utah Geek Events a not for profit to help manage local events.
